To become a registered pharmacist in New Zealand, students must complete a total of 4 years of study\u2014consisting of a 1-year prerequisite program followed by a 3-year professional pharmacy curriculum. Upon graduation, completing a mandatory 52-week internship allows graduates to register with the Pharmacy Council and practice as fully qualified pharmacists.Currently, the University of Otago and the University of Auckland are the two main institutions offering pharmacy programs in New Zealand. Both universities are highly popular, boasting excellent employment rates and strong career outcomes for their graduates.
