In 2026, Australia is home to nine universities ranked among the world’s top 100 according to the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings. Australian higher education institutions offer globally recognised programs and courses, underpinned by the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). The AQF supports clarity and consistency of qualifications, making it easier for graduates to have their credentials acknowledged internationally. Australian universities also provide modern infrastructure, advanced curricula and strong support for research and innovation, giving students access to high‑quality learning environments and enhanced career and postgraduate opportunities.”

Why Australia?

01. Variety study option and research opportunities

The more than 40 universities across Australia offer hundreds of courses and degrees to choose from. You’ll be able to find a qualification in almost every discipline and field of study. Moreover, Australia invests heavily in research and thus the country has produced outstanding research in various fields.

Well-known discoveries that have come out of Australia include penicillin, WiFi, the ultrasound machine and the flight data recorder or black box. When you study in Australia, you’ll be able to take advantage of the impressive technology and research resources that made these inventions possible.

02. You can work while and after you study

Australia allows student visa holders to work while they’re studying. You may only work once your course has commenced and only while your course is in session. Equally important is that you’re only allowed to work for a maximum of 40 hours per fortnight.

The Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) offers international students who’ve studied in Australia for at least two years the opportunity to apply for temporary permission to work in Australia.

03. High quality of life

Australia consistently scores well in surveys and studies that measure quality of life. One organization has compared the quality of life in 230 cities around the world and Australia has three cities in the top 10. In fact, Australia has claimed the number one city on the list(Canberra). Adelaide and Brisbane are the other two cities in the top 10, at numbers 4 and 7 respectively. Other cities on the list are Perth, at number 17, and Melbourne, at number 37, and Sydney, coming in at number 48.

In addition the country’s many natural wonders and sunny days is the best. You can visit the Great Barrier Reef, the Kakadu National Park, the Tasmanian Wilderness and Fraser Island. The sunny weather allows for many days spent outside, being active. Of course winter does happen, but it’s not nearly as severe as in other parts of the world.
