Architecture Design NZ is the study of building design, construction, and building maintenance, encompassing a wide range of theoretical knowledge. Students learn architectural theory, creative design skills, building history and culture, New Zealand building codes and regulations, and practical skills to adapt to societal, technological, and environmental changes, including climate change in architecture.

Study pathways

To become a Registered Architect in New Zealand, students must complete a Bachelor of Architectural Studies NZ followed by a Master of Architectural Studies (Professional Architecture). After graduation, 3 – 5 years of practical architectural experience in New Zealand are required before registration with the New Zealand Registered Architects Board (NZRAB), granting official professional architect registration in New Zealand.
