Today, we are pleased to share a scholarship update from The University of Queensland (UQ), currently ranked #42 in the world.

UQ has announced the International High Achievers Scholarship (First Year) for high-performing international students. This scholarship is available to students of all nationalities commencing eligible programs in Semester 2, 2026, offering a 15% tuition fee reduction.

Scholarship Overview

• Program: Undergraduate and Postgraduate Coursework
• Commencement: Semester 2, 2026
• Benefit: 15% tuition fee reduction
• Duration: First year of study only (Semester 2, 2026 and Semester 1, 2027)

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, students must:

• Be an international student of any nationality
• Apply for a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program at UQ (minimum 16 units)
• Commence study in 2026 in an eligible program
• Meet all academic entry requirements and English language proficiency requirements
• Have received an unconditional offer, or have satisfied all conditions of a conditional offer
• Achieve a competitive academic score among the pool of offer holders for their commencement semester

Exclusions 

Students are not eligible if they:

• Have received another scholarship, tuition fee reduction, or rebate from UQ
• Have received a full scholarship or sponsorship from another organisation (applicants with partial scholarships may still be considered)
• Have already accepted their offer to study at UQ

How to apply 

There is no separate application required for this scholarship.

Eligible students will be:

• Automatically considered, and
• Notified of their scholarship outcome at the time of receiving their offer letter, or once all conditions of a conditional offer have been met
