The Bachelor of Oral Health program in New Zealand is designed to train professional Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists. Dental hygienists in New Zealand are highly recognized professionals who provide clinical services focused on oral health assessment, oral disease prevention, education, guidance, and treatment. Dental therapists provide oral health management and dental care for children and adolescents under the age of 18.Only two universities in New Zealand offer this program. It is highly popular among both domestic and international students, and because seats are strictly limited, admission is highly competitive.

Career Prospects After Graduation
Upon graduation, you can register as a Dental Therapist or Dental Hygienist to build a professional career. Dental therapists focus on restorative and preventive dental care for children and adolescents up to 18 years of age. Dental hygienists educate patients on maintaining oral health and collaborate seamlessly with dentists.Once registered with the Dental Council of New Zealand, you can provide oral health services to individuals of all ages in public/private hospitals and dental associations. Employment opportunities are also available in health promotion organizations and educational institutions, opening up a diverse range of career paths.After graduation, a 3-year Post-Study Work Visa is granted, which also allows your partner to apply for a work visa and your children to receive domestic school tuition benefits. Additionally, if you secure employment in a relevant regional area, you may become eligible to apply for permanent residency directly.
