The Department of Pharmacy is dedicated to training and developing professional pharmacists. To become a registered pharmacist in New Zealand, students must complete a total of 4 years of study—consisting of a 1-year prerequisite program followed by a 3-year professional pharmacy curriculum. Upon graduation, completing a mandatory 52-week internship allows graduates to register with the Pharmacy Council and practice as fully qualified pharmacists.Currently, the University of Otago and the University of Auckland are the two main institutions offering pharmacy programs in New Zealand. Both universities are highly popular, boasting excellent employment rates and strong career outcomes for their graduates. Undergraduate Major: Molecular sciences (i.e., biochemistry, biomedical science, chemistry, molecular and cellular biology, pharmacology)
Academic GPA: Minimum Grade B average in the final year of undergraduate study
Master of Pharmacy Practice – 2Year
- Requires IELTS overall 7.0 (with no band less than 7.0)
- Eligible for a 3-year Post-Study Work Visa
